Here’s a Custom 18 watt and matching D112 we built in the Fall of 2010. This one was the first 18 watt to feature a switchable tube or solid state rectifier. It also features a three-way mid switch (Scoop, Flat, Boost), Volume, Treble and Bass controls, as well as a Hi/Lo gain switch and Single Stage/Parallel Stage inputs.
Austin Fields, Central Texas guitar player of We Are Pioneers, picked this one up. The fellas came in recently and put down this 11-minute instrumental at the studio. The left guitar track is Austin’s custom 18 watt and the right guitar track is a Steamboat Classic 18 running in full power with the tube rectifier. Both guitars use a ton of effects and the amps are set up clean. The bass track is played on a custom 200 watt Steamboat Bass amp I’ll be writing about very soon! Enjoy.
